'36th Book Day' Lee Geon-bok, CEO of Dongnyeok, Honored with Silver Crown Cultural Medal
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Korea Publishing Culture Association will hold an awards ceremony for contributors to the development of publishing culture on the 12th at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Press Center in celebration of the 36th Book Day. Lee Geon-bok, CEO of Dongnyeok, will receive the Silver Crown Cultural Medal, Kwon Hyuk-jae, CEO of Hakyeon Munhwasa, and Jeong Byeong-guk, CEO of Eungbo Publishing, will receive the Presidential Citation, and the late Han Sang-ha, chairman of Gyeongin Munhwasa, will receive an award from the Publishing Association.
According to the Publishing Association, a total of twenty-nine publishers, including Lee Geon-bok, CEO of Dongnyeok, will receive government awards at this ceremony. Lee Geon-bok, who will receive the Silver Crown Cultural Medal, is recognized for contributing to democratization through books that illuminated the 1980s era and for leading the development of humanities and cultural books through publishing in fields such as youth, literature, architecture, and art.
Kwon Hyuk-jae, CEO of Hakyeon Munhwasa, who will receive the Presidential Citation, is acknowledged for his contribution to establishing the Korea Publishing Content Center, and CEO Kwon was also recognized for his efforts to promote the importance of science and technology through scientific books.
