Traffic Management System Cleaning on Olympic-daero and Gangbyeonbuk-ro until the 31st... Partial Traffic Control
Cleaning Work on 210 Units Including Variable Message Signs and Video Detection Cameras on 7 Expressway Routes
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Facilities Corporation announced that from the 11th to the 31st, it will carry out cleaning work on the traffic management systems located on expressways such as Olympic-daero and Gangbyeonbuk-ro.
The cleaning work targets seven routes: Gangbyeonbuk-ro, Olympic-daero, Naebu-sunhwan-ro, Bukbu-ganseon-ro, Dongbu-ganseon-ro, Gyeongbu Expressway, and Gangnam-sunhwan-ro.
The traffic management systems include road electronic display boards and video detection cameras. The cleaning targets a total of 210 units, consisting of 25 electronic display boards and 185 video detection cameras installed on streetlight poles. The purpose of the cleaning work is to improve visibility and provide more accurate traffic information.
The electronic display boards and video detection cameras are installed at a height of 12 meters on the road, so workers perform the cleaning while riding high-altitude work vehicles. The cleaning time required is about 1 hour per electronic display board and about 15 minutes per video detection camera. For the targeted sections, one lane will be partially closed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to carry out the work.
The corporation plans to deploy sufficient traffic safety facilities and secure safe distances to ensure the safety of drivers and workers during the work. Additionally, where possible, work will be conducted on the shoulder to minimize traffic congestion. Citizens traveling through the affected sections are requested to reduce their driving speed.
