Gyeonggi-do Produces and Distributes Fire Prevention Posters for Waste Disposal Facilities
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is producing and distributing posters with precautions categorized by fire causes to prevent fires at waste disposal facilities.
On the 9th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will produce and distribute posters to 1,952 waste disposal facilities in the province, illustrating fire incidents that occurred over the past three years by fire causes such as ▲chemical factors ▲mechanical factors ▲electrical factors ▲carelessness, along with easy-to-understand pictures and precautions.
In particular, the precautions include ▲separately storing fire hazardous materials and combustible materials ▲regular cleaning of electrical equipment and machinery ▲implementing safety measures before starting welding and cutting work.
Kwon Hyuk-jong, head of the Resource Circulation Division of the province, said, "While looking for ways to prevent frequent fires at waste disposal facilities, we created posters with easy-to-understand precautions to be posted inside facilities or workplaces so that workers and managers can naturally learn and practice the precautions," adding, "We also plan to provide the files to other local governments outside Gyeonggi Province if needed."

Meanwhile, over the past three years (2020 to the end of August 2022), the number of fire incidents at waste disposal facilities in the province totaled 110 cases, with 10 casualties and property damage amounting to 12.3 billion KRW.
