It was forecasted that more than one million people would gather for this fireworks festival. The police fully restricted Yeouidong-ro, which extends from the southern end of Mapo Bridge to in front of the 63 Building, starting from 2 PM.
To minimize traffic congestion around Yeouido on the day of the '2022 Seoul International Fireworks Festival,' Seoul City increased subway Line 5 and Line 9 services by 70 runs and concentrated bus dispatches. All 19 bus routes passing through Yeouidong-ro, including two village bus lines and three Gyeonggi bus lines, are rerouted.

Accordingly, four bus stops in both directions at Yeouido Middle School and Yeouinaru will be temporarily unavailable during the event, but boarding and alighting will be possible at nearby stops along the detour routes.
The number of subway Line 5 runs will increase from 45 to 63 between 8:30 PM and 10 PM, and Line 9 runs will increase from 140 to 192 between 5 PM and 11 PM. At 16 stations around the event site, including Yeouido Station and Yeouinaru Station, about 259 safety personnel, approximately five times the usual number, will be deployed. A Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official requested, "Since vehicle congestion is expected in many parts of Seoul, including the Yeouido area’s car-only roads and downtown Sejong-daero during the holiday period, please use public transportation such as the subway, and if using a vehicle, follow long-distance detours and traffic police hand signals carefully."
