Gwangju Seo-gu, Recruiting After-School Care Children for Dahamkke Care Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) is recruiting after-school care children to use the Hwajeong 4-dong Dahamkke Care Center, which opened in the first half of this year, throughout the year.
According to Seo-gu on the 7th, the ‘Dahamkke Care Center’ is a space that provides after-school care services to elementary school students regardless of income level by utilizing idle spaces in the community with high safety and accessibility, such as apartment residents’ community facilities and administrative welfare centers.
It is also a child welfare facility aimed at eliminating blind spots in elementary care and establishing a community-centered care system.
The Hwajeong 4-dong Dahamkke Care Center Seo-gu Branch No. 2 has an area of about 201㎡ and consists of play space, study space, and office space.
Programs such as after-school homework and reading activities, creative science, arts and physical education activities, and snack support for children are also operated.
The recruitment quota is 40, and any elementary school child aged 6 to 12 in the district who needs care can apply via phone or by visiting the center regardless of income level.
After recruitment, admission is decided sequentially according to priority such as dual-income families, single-parent families, and multiple children families. If admitted, a center usage fee of 70,000 KRW (excluding snack fees) is charged.
During the semester, the center operates from 1 PM to 6 PM, and during vacations, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
