Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a completion ceremony for the country's only 'Integrated Hydrogen Mobility Hydrogen Refueling Station' at Daewon Hydrogen Refueling Station located in Deokjeong Park, Daewon-dong, Seongsan-gu, at 11 a.m. on the 7th.
Attendees included Jo Myeong-rae, 2nd Deputy Mayor, Park Seon-ae, Chairwoman of the Economic Welfare and Women’s Committee of Changwon City Council, Baek Jeong-won, Director of Changwon Industry Promotion Agency, Jo Gwang-seok, Head of Air Environment Management Division at Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, Park Soon-cheol, Director of Energy Management Division of Gyeongsangnam-do, Gu Yeong-mo, Director of Korea Automotive Technology Institute, and Kim Chang-mo, Advisor to the California State Government and Professor at UC Davis University.
The Daewon Hydrogen Refueling Station can refuel 24 hydrogen passenger cars or 5 hydrogen commercial vehicles per hour, and it has a separately installed hydrogen refueling area for small mobility vehicles such as drones and two-wheelers, which cannot be seen at other hydrogen refueling stations.
In particular, most of the facilities and equipment of the hydrogen refueling system are composed of domestically produced equipment made by local companies, contributing to the advancement of localization of hydrogen refueling systems and strengthening the competitiveness of local companies.
To observe Korea’s first integrated hydrogen mobility refueling station made with domestic technology, Professor Kim Chang-mo from UC Davis University, an advisor to the California State Government’s Legislative Office, attended the completion ceremony, drawing attention.
Jo Myeong-rae, 2nd Deputy Mayor, said, “Changwon City is proud to be the only place in Korea to officially provide refueling services for all hydrogen mobility vehicles,” adding, “We will actively support smooth development and demonstration of various hydrogen mobility vehicles through the Daewon Hydrogen Refueling Station, and continuously promote diverse hydrogen policies that can benefit hydrogen companies and institutions.”
