KakaoBank Donates 100 Laptops to Korea IT Welfare Promotion Agency
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] KakaoBank has taken steps to support IT devices to bridge the digital information gap.
KakaoBank announced on the 7th that it donated 100 laptops by attending the '2022 Global IT Talent Development PC Delivery Ceremony' hosted by the Korea IT Welfare Promotion Agency on the 6th.
The laptops donated by KakaoBank are laptops that are not used by the bank but have no performance issues. It is expected to contribute to bridging the digital information gap while also being meaningful in terms of utilizing unused resources.
The laptops donated by KakaoBank will be distributed to 118 locations nationwide, including regional children's centers, senior welfare centers, facilities for the disabled, and child welfare facilities, along with donation items from other companies participating in the event.
The '2022 Global IT Talent Development PC Delivery Ceremony' is a project by the Korea IT Welfare Promotion Agency that has supported IT devices such as PCs to bridge the information gap for underprivileged groups since 2001. This year, 23 companies including KakaoBank and Seoul Guarantee Insurance participated in donating IT devices.

A KakaoBank official stated, "We participated in this donation to reduce the digital information gap experienced by information-vulnerable groups and to contribute to environmental protection through resource circulation," adding, "We will strive to contribute to the environment and society with KakaoBank's technology and resources."
