[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] POSCO International announced that it has built a youth education center in Fergana Province, Uzbekistan, and held a completion ceremony on the 5th. The facility, where local youth can learn foreign languages while preparing for overseas study or employment, has a total of three floors and can accommodate up to 100 people studying simultaneously.
Youth in the local community can freely study foreign languages for free. The company plans to support customized educational programs in collaboration with domestic foreign language education specialists such as YBMnet and Ringle. Since establishing a local branch in 1992, POSCO International built a textile factory in 1996 and has become the largest cotton yarn producer in Uzbekistan. In March of this year, it decided to build a cluster, increasing the cotton cultivation area from the existing 5,000 hectares to 35,000 hectares by 2025.
