On the 7th, the performance planning company Seoul Arts Planning announced that comedian Kim Youngcheol, cellist Lee Yujeong, who is active worldwide in Germany, the United States, and Japan, and pianist Jeong Hanbin will appear on the stage of the classical concert "Knowing Classics" held at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center on the 16th.
The performance is planned to allow the audience to enjoy familiar pieces performed with high-quality playing by top-class classical musicians along with comedian Kim Youngcheol's flavorful storytelling.
The "Knowing Classics" program is composed of a variety of pieces centered on well-known traditional classical works such as Saint-Sa?ns' "The Swan" and Paganini Variations, as well as film music, pop songs, and Korean popular songs. It is presented in various formats such as solo piano, piano and cello duo, cello accompaniment with singing, string ensemble, and Kim Youngcheol's typewriter performance, adding both auditory and visual enjoyment.
Kim Youngcheol participates as an MC and typewriter performer. In Leroy Anderson's piece "The Typewriter," where the sound of typing is used like percussion, he plans to deliver an exciting typewriter "performance" with cheerful expressions and gestures. He has previously taken on the role of an ambassador introducing easily enjoyable classical performances to the public through programs such as "Fun Fun Classic" in 2013.
Cellist Lee Yujeong, who will share the stage, entered the Paris Conservatory of Music early and graduated as the youngest from the Juilliard School's Doctor of Musical Arts program. She began to attract attention after a successful debut recital at age 13. She has been recognized for her skills through collaborations with top orchestras at home and abroad, including the Rostock Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Kanazawa Orchestra in Japan, Sendai Symphony Orchestra, and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. She also made headlines as the first Korean to join the European Monaco Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Cellist Lee Yujeong, who studied under Mischa Maisky, Philippe Muller, and in Korea under Jeong Myeonghwa and Lee Dongwoo, is currently active as a soloist both domestically and internationally.
Pianist Jeong Hanbin will showcase a fresh and unique stage with piano performances and talks, demonstrating his versatility as an entertainer.
