Sacheon-si Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of Biosecurity Measures at Pig Farms
From October 11 to November 11 for one month
Sacheon City Animal Quarantine Team is conducting a comprehensive inspection of biosecurity measures at pig farms.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, is undertaking a "Comprehensive Inspection of Biosecurity Measures at Pig Farms" to proactively prevent and contain the outbreak and spread of livestock infectious diseases, which are highly likely to occur during the winter season.
The city has formed an inspection team consisting of two members, including the head of the Animal Quarantine Team, and plans to inspect the biosecurity status of 20 pig farms within the jurisdiction from October 11 to November 11, over the course of one month.
This comprehensive inspection will focus on strengthened quarantine facilities, closure of auxiliary entrances, management of disinfection facilities, disinfection of external visitors and vehicles entering the farms, and disinfection upon each entry.
During this inspection, cases of inadequate responses from farms affected by African Swine Fever (ASF) will also be shared.

A city official stated, "We will do our utmost to establish a quarantine network to prevent any farms from suffering damage due to livestock infectious diseases," and urged, "We ask livestock farmers to also take thorough measures in biosecurity."
