This regular assembly was the first event held after personnel changes involving about 1,000 employees following the organizational restructuring implemented on October 1. It took place in the district office auditorium with around 360 employees attending.
At this event, Mayor Seogang-seok emphasized the personnel principles of the 8th term. He stated, “Personnel decisions are made by individuals taking responsibility for their own destiny,” and reiterated, “Personnel decisions will be based on one’s own report card, capabilities, reputation, and achievements, and will no longer be influenced by any organizational power or financial influence.”
Reflecting on his first 100 days in office, he praised the employees’ active enthusiasm and outstanding capabilities based on his direct experience. Additionally, as a senior public official with over 30 years of experience and having overcome adversity, he sincerely shared his life story, eliciting empathy from the staff.
Mayor Seogang-seok expressed, “I want to be remembered as a mentor to public officials,” and pledged, “I will become a senior public official whom district office employees want to follow and learn from.” He also requested the cooperation of the employees.
Finally, he announced the official start of the 8th term by saying, “We now stand at the starting line to run again for the sovereign residents with ‘A Rebounding Songpa, Creative and Innovative District Administration,’” and firmly resolved, “Let us unite as one, share values, serve the sovereign residents as masters, and together provide the best administrative services promptly through creative and innovative district administration.”
Meanwhile, to mark 100 days since his inauguration in the 8th term, Mayor Seogang-seok plans to visit key sites such as Pungnap-dong and Jamsil Metropolitan Transfer Center to oversee priority projects and continue communication with residents.
Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun District, will hold major departmental business plan briefing sessions over four days from the 4th, starting with the Planning and Finance Bureau and ending on the 7th with the Safety, Construction, and Transportation Bureau.
These meetings are occasions for each department to report to the mayor on this year’s project achievements and next year’s strategic goals and tasks to fulfill the pledges and core projects of the 8th term.
Earlier, Mayor Lee instructed, “Departments should establish next year’s work plans in line with the vision of ‘100% Happiness Seodaemun!’ to quickly realize tangible administrative achievements in the 8th term.”
He also presented the district administration’s policy direction for deriving departmental policy tasks as “future-oriented innovation strategy, customized welfare system, and resident-friendly rapid growth.”
Through consensus building and concrete execution plans at this briefing, it is expected that the key projects of each Seodaemun District department will be promoted with greater momentum in the new year.
