Busan Film Festival Prepares Compensation Plan for Ticketing Errors "Discussing Additional Bookings and Screenings"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) has announced compensation measures for the ticket payment error that occurred the previous day.
The 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) stated on the 28th, "Only ticket holders will be able to make additional reservations for 12 hours starting from 2 PM on October 1." This is a follow-up measure after ticket payments for official screenings, which began at 2 PM the previous day, failed for about 38 minutes.
Over 30,400 tickets were sold, and approximately 6,200 have been used so far. BIFF explained, "After investigating the cause with the festival office and the ticket sales system operator, it was found that there was a problem with the ticket issuance and authentication processing functions of the operator's system."
They added, "This additional reservation, arranged by readjusting guest and other seats, can only be paid for with Busan International Film Festival tickets. General reservations paid by credit card or small mobile payments will be temporarily suspended for 12 hours."
Additional screenings for ticket holders are also under discussion with distributors and importers. If unused tickets are to be refunded, a full refund will be provided at the purchase price.
