Danggeun Market Partners with National Police Agency to Enhance Fraud Detection System
Real-Time Automatic Detection of Fraudulent Information History in Secondhand Transactions
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Danggeun Market (co-CEOs Kim Yong-hyun and Kim Jae-hyun) announced on the 27th that it will enhance data linkage with the Cyber Fraud Damage Report History Inquiry System of the National Police Agency to establish a strong user protection network. This collaboration with the National Police Agency is part of the "Cyber Fraud Damage Prevention" business agreement conducted last November between Danggeun Market, the National Police Agency, and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
With this system enhancement, Danggeun Market can now utilize report history data that includes mobile phone numbers, account numbers, and email addresses reported three or more times within the last three months to the National Police Agency's cybercrime reporting system, enabling real-time detection of suspicious fraudulent transactions.
From the service registration stage to the used goods transaction process, Danggeun Market quickly and reliably detects suspicious fraud information and sends warning alert messages to users. Users do not need to manually check the fraud history of their transaction partners, as automatic alerts raise awareness of suspicious fraudulent transactions to prevent damage. The scope of fraud history detection will gradually be expanded.
If a user who has been sanctioned due to a fraud history attempts a transaction, a warning alert window stating, "This phone number has been reported for fraud three or more times in the cybercrime reporting system within the last three months," will be immediately displayed on the profile and chat screen visible to the other party. If inappropriate messages are detected, cautionary guidance and warning messages will also be automatically shown. The system tracks and sends warning messages even if the phone number was changed midway or if there is a fraud history in past posts through its own system.
