CJ Foodville Vips Launches Meal Kit Using Namhae Garlic... "Practicing Win-Win with Farmers"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] CJ Foodville's Vips announced on the 22nd that it has launched two meal kits using Namhae garlic and aims to promote mutual growth with local farms.
This meal kit launch is part of a win-win agreement CJ Foodville signed with Namhae County last month. It was prepared to provide stable sales channels to garlic farms, a representative specialty of Namhae County, and to supply high-quality products to consumers. The goal is to support garlic farmers who are struggling due to imported garlic and unstable price fluctuations, while also promoting the excellence of Namhae garlic through Vips products with competitive taste.
Namhae garlic is characterized by its strong pungent flavor as it is cultivated while being exposed to sea breezes due to the geographical feature of being surrounded by the sea on all sides. Thanks to Namhae’s marine climate, with warm winters and cool summers, the occurrence of pests and diseases is also low.
The new products are the ‘Vips Garlic Butter Steak’ and ‘Vips Shrimp Aglio Olio Pasta’ meal kits. The Vips Garlic Butter Steak is a fan-cut steak flavored with pungent Namhae garlic and garlic butter. The Vips Shrimp Aglio Olio Pasta features garlic oil made with Namhae garlic and olive oil, harmonizing with plump shrimp and fettuccine noodles. A recipe card is also provided to make it easy for cooking beginners to prepare.
