Hyundai Rotem Exhibits K2 Tank and Wheeled Armored Vehicles at Asia's Largest Weapons Exhibition

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Hyundai Rotem is participating in Asia's largest ground weapon exhibition held in Korea, showcasing tanks and armored vehicles equipped with advanced missile defense protection systems, as well as unmanned future weapon systems.
Hyundai Rotem announced on the 22nd that it will participate in 'DX KOREA 2022,' the Korea Defense Industry Exhibition, held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do until the 25th. The Korea Defense Industry Exhibition is Asia's largest ground weapon exhibition held biennially. Hyundai Rotem has set up a joint exhibition hall together with Hyundai Motor Group affiliates such as Kia and Hyundai Wia for this exhibition.
As a measure to enhance the protection capability of ground weapon systems such as tanks and armored vehicles, Hyundai Rotem will display actual models of the K2 tank and wheeled armored vehicles equipped with advanced protection systems. In addition, scale models of various K2 tank and wheeled armored vehicle variants, including the Polish and Middle Eastern versions of the K2 tank and wheeled armored vehicles equipped with 105mm turrets, will be exhibited to demonstrate competitiveness as a leading domestic ground weapon system company.
Among the key future weapon systems on display is a multipurpose unmanned vehicle. This remote-controlled and unmanned vehicle can be equipped and operated with various equipment depending on the mission, and a multipurpose unmanned vehicle equipped with a jammer, a radio interference device, will be exhibited. It is characterized by its ability to respond to threats from drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles on future battlefields.
Additionally, a model of the multi-legged hybrid-driven future ground platform DOSS will be exhibited. Electrically driven, DOSS can walk using robotic legs or quickly maneuver using wheels depending on the terrain, and it supports remote and autonomous driving. It can perform various missions such as surveillance and reconnaissance, casualty transport, logistics delivery, and explosive detection and disposal.

A Hyundai Rotem official said, “Through this exhibition, we will showcase ground weapon system solutions capable of responding to various battlefields as a leading domestic ground weapon system company with proven technology and competitiveness in the market, including the K2 tank, wheeled armored vehicles, and multipurpose unmanned vehicles,” adding, “We will continue to focus on research and development to target domestic and international ground weapon system markets.”
