Jinju City Selected for 2023 Cultural Heritage Administration Public Project Utilizing Local Cultural Assets
Cultural Heritage Night Tour and Hyanggyo·Seowon Cultural Heritage Utilization Project Consecutively Selected for Success
Jinju City in Gyeongnam has been selected for the Cultural Heritage Night Project and the Hyanggyo and Seowon Cultural Heritage Utilization Project by the Cultural Heritage Administration.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 19th that it has secured 285 million KRW in national and provincial funding after being selected for the Cultural Heritage Night Project and the Hyanggyo·Seowon Cultural Heritage Utilization Project, which are part of the 2023 Regional Cultural Heritage Utilization Projects by the Cultural Heritage Administration.
The Regional Cultural Heritage Utilization Project is a representative public contest project by the Cultural Heritage Administration based on the philosophy of "utilization is preservation," aiming to discover the value and meaning of dormant cultural heritage and support its fusion with cultural content so that cultural heritage can be used as a resource for regional development.
Among the five fields of vivid cultural heritage, Hyanggyo·Seowon, cultural heritage night, traditional mountain temples, and old houses·ancestral homes, Jinju City was selected for the Cultural Heritage Night Project for the second consecutive year.
The Hyanggyo·Seowon Cultural Heritage Utilization Project has been selected since 2015 and has been promoted under the supervision of Gaho Seowon.
Additionally, in this contest, Jinju Hyanggyo was selected for the first time along with Gaho Seowon, achieving the great success of having two projects selected for the Hyanggyo·Seowon Cultural Heritage Utilization Project.
Furthermore, the city was also selected for the 2023 Regional Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Support Project by the Cultural Heritage Administration, securing 100 million KRW in national funding.
