KT Participates in the 6th Asia-Pacific International Maritime Digital Conference
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] KT announced on the 15th that it will participate in the '6th Asia-Pacific International Maritime Digital Conference' held for two days on the 15th and 16th at Lotte Hotel, Sogong-dong, Seoul, to showcase its ultra-high-speed maritime wireless communication network (LTE-M) technology to the world.
This year's conference will be attended by about 100 experts from academia and industry in 20 countries across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America regions, including international organizations such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), and the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).
The detailed program of the conference consists of five main sessions on maritime digital technology exchange and intergovernmental cooperation measures for digital transformation. KT will showcase the construction and operation status of LTE-M for intelligent maritime traffic information services and maritime disaster safety communication, as well as equipment such as transmitters and receivers.

Our government has established a Korean-style e-Navigation service targeting vessels navigating within Korea's territorial waters and coastal areas up to 100 km offshore and has built LTE-M for maritime disaster safety response. KT has carried out all related LTE-M projects since the LTE-M test network construction project in 2016 and has experience in building and operating the nationwide LTE-M network (9 centers nationwide, 263 base stations).
