The Bank of Korea and the Korean Statistical Society Hold Forum on 'Data Economy and Statistics in the Digital Age'
The Bank of Korea announced on the 15th that it will hold a forum on the 16th titled "Data Economy and Statistics in the Digital Age" in collaboration with the Korean Statistical Society.
The forum will be conducted in a hybrid format, with panelists attending offline and general participants joining via online live streaming.
The event will include welcome speeches by Lee Seung-heon, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea, and Park Byung-wook, President of the Korean Statistical Society, followed by a keynote lecture.
During the discussion session, statistics experts from the Bank of Korea, government agencies, and academia will discuss the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for analyzing economic phenomena and policy formulation, as well as the latest statistical techniques in the financial sector.
Additionally, the forum will explore the potential use of big data statistics for economic analysis and introduce text mining methodologies (extracting information from textual data) to improve economic forecasting accuracy.
