Sozinkong Partners with Seongsimdang to Support Rehabilitated Small Business Owners through Education and Employment Assistance
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS), together with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Rosso, the operator of Seongsimdang, announced on the 14th that they are recruiting trainees for the ‘2022 Re-employment Program for Restarting Small Business Owners in the Confectionery, Bakery, and Food Service Sectors’ until October 3rd.
This program is designed to strengthen the employment capabilities of small business owners who have closed or are planning to close their businesses and wish to find employment in the confectionery, bakery, and food service (Western cuisine cooking) sectors. It offers specialized training incorporating the know-how of Seongsimdang, the leading single bakery company.
Trainees will receive 5 days (40 hours) of specialized practical training from Seongsimdang, including theory and practice tailored to their desired fields (confectionery, bakery, food service). Upon completion, trainees will be provided with a participation allowance of 400,000 KRW (before tax).
Eligible applicants are small business owners aged 69 or younger who have closed or are planning to close their businesses, as well as their spouses. Through this first announcement, 30 trainees will be selected.
The selection process consists of document screening (30%) and interviews (70%). Only those who pass the document screening will proceed to the interview stage.
The document screening will comprehensively evaluate qualification fulfillment, employment intention, motivation for application, certifications, and awards. The interview will conduct an in-depth assessment of the concreteness and effort related to employment plans in the confectionery, bakery, and food service sectors, as well as the willingness to participate in the program.
Outstanding trainees will be given opportunities to apply for regular employment positions at Rosso companies such as Seongsimdang and Flying Pan, linking not only education but also stable employment.
After completing the training, if a trainee is employed at Seongsimdang or another workplace for more than 30 days and has closed all previously operated businesses, they will be eligible for a job transition incentive of up to 1,000,000 KRW.
Park Seonghyo, Director of SEMAS, stated, “Through win-win cooperation with Seongsimdang, a representative company of Daejeon, restarting small business owners will have the opportunity to directly experience practical specialized training and secure employment capabilities.” He added, “SEMAS will continue to expand specialized training tailored to the demand for hopeful employment fields of restarting small business owners.”
