20,165 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed by 9 PM... 13,006 Fewer Than Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] As of 9 PM on the day of Chuseok, the 10th, over 20,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide.
According to Seoul Metropolitan Government and other local governments, from midnight to 9 PM on the same day, a total of 27,165 people across 17 cities and provinces nationwide were confirmed positive for COVID-19. This is 13,006 fewer than the 40,171 cases reported during the same time frame the previous day.
Since the number of tests tends to decrease during holidays, health authorities expect the number of confirmed cases to rise after the Chuseok holiday ends.
The interim tally for the day showed 13,482 cases (49.63%) in the metropolitan area and 13,683 cases (50.37%) in non-metropolitan areas.
