Kakao Entertainment Unveils 4 Webtoon Recommendations for Chuseok Celebration
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kakao Entertainment revealed four recommended webtoons on the 10th to enjoy during the Chuseok holiday.
The webtoon "Myeoneuragi," serialized on Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page, is a work full of empathy and solid storytelling, making it a steady seller that should not be missed this Chuseok as well.
"Myeoneuragi" is a daily life comic centered on family that attracted attention from the time it was first serialized on social networking services (SNS). It realistically portrays the marriage story of dual-income newlyweds Min Sarin and Mu Guyeong, as well as Min Sarin's life in her in-laws' house.
Thanks to its well-structured story and distinctive characters, the work also succeeded as a drama. The Kakao TV original drama starring Park Ha-sun, Kwon Yul, and Moon Hee-kyung produced Season 1 based on the webtoon story and Season 2 newly depicting the growth diary of pregnant Min Sarin, delivering much empathy to viewers.
"Sadly, This Is My Life," serialized on Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page, is one of the top daily life comics, continuing for about four years since 2018 and having a solid fan base.
The webtoon depicts the comedic daily lives of Seul-i, who tries to adapt somehow while being tossed around in the harsh modern society, and her friends struggling with difficult work life. It humorously unfolds Seul-i's dormitory life upon entering university, her self-supporting life diary, job success story, and episodes of youth during the COVID-19 era, using the unique style and expression of the author Seul.
"Once Again, Into the Light," serialized on Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon, is a romance fantasy work featuring the contrasting worldviews of two empires of light and darkness, highlighted by Yuya's splendid art style. Based on the web novel of the same name, the work gained popularity with its unique setting and captivating story featuring a protagonist born in the neighboring empire, unlike other fantasy works where the protagonist enters a book or returns to the past.
The Kakao Page webtoon "The Surgeon Who Became Hua Tuo" is a newly created webtoon based on the million-page original by popular martial arts writer Park Dong-shin, who wrote hit novels such as "Shinseonggoeui," "Bully Bachelor," "Song of the Fist," "Dignity of the Fist," and "Mongwanggoepyo." This work offers enjoyment through the unique historical background of martial arts combined with modern medicine, and fans of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms will find it even more entertaining.
