Mokpo National Maritime University Signs Academic Advancement Support Agreement with Gwangju-Jeonnam Child Welfare Association
Full Scholarship Support Upon Admission to Mokpo National Maritime University
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] On the 5th, the Korea National University of Mokpo Maritime signed a business agreement with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Child Welfare Association to support college admission for youth residing in facilities.
This agreement was promoted to support college admission and career exploration for youth residing in facilities within the Gwangju-Jeonnam region through the establishment of a network between institutions.
Through this agreement, youth residing in facilities in the Gwangju-Jeonnam region who enter Korea National University of Mokpo Maritime will receive a full scholarship every semester, and maritime students will be provided free dormitory fees, meal expenses, and uniforms during their enrollment period.
In addition, all youth residing in facilities who enter the College of Maritime Engineering will be given priority for living support scholarships during their enrollment period.
Plans are also underway to discuss the priority selection of working scholarship students when youth residing in facilities are enrolled in college.
Kim Mi-ja, president of the Jeonnam Child Welfare Association, said, “This was a meaningful agreement that promises a bright future for youth who had an uncertain future in unfortunate environments and is also part of securing new students for the school, allowing for mutual growth. We deeply thank Mokpo Maritime University for contributing to the local community and doing good work that allows coexistence.”
