At the meeting, the center directors expressed operational difficulties after COVID-19, including ▲lack of communication with school care ▲insufficient operating budget and personnel ▲the necessity of support for essential equipment.
They also pointed out issues related to personnel expenses included in the operating costs and demanded improvements in care policies and better treatment for workers.
They requested that personnel expenses be supported at the level of other social workers and that the ‘Child Welfare Teacher’ and ‘Kkum Sadari Study Room’ support projects, currently provided to centers with 29 or more children, be extended to centers with 19 or more children.
Council member Park Moon-ok emphasized, “Just as Jeonnam Province and 22 cities and counties cooperated last year to improve the treatment of youth leaders, we will actively cooperate to improve the treatment of care welfare workers at local child centers.”
She added, “We will strive to increase the number of personnel for the ‘Kkum Sadari Study Room’ currently provided to about 120 centers to strengthen the care system.”
