[Issue & Poll] NBS "President Yoon's Approval Rating Stagnates in the Low 30% Range... Same 32% as Two Weeks Ago"
Negative ratings fall by 4 percentage points to 59%
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating remains stagnant in the low 30% range. Although the decline in negative evaluations suggested potential improvement, signals of declining trust in government administration were also detected.
According to the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted from the 5th to the 7th by Embrain Public, K-stat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research, surveying 1,000 men and women aged 18 and over nationwide, 32% responded that President Yoon is managing the government well, while 59% responded that he is doing poorly.
Compared to the survey two weeks ago, positive evaluations remained steady at 32%, while negative evaluations dropped by 4 percentage points.
Among the respondents who evaluated positively (32%), 9% said he is "doing very well," and 22% said he is "doing fairly well." Among those who evaluated negatively (59%), 36% said he is "doing very poorly," and 23% said he is "doing fairly poorly."
Although positive evaluations did not improve, the partial decrease in negative evaluations suggested potential for improvement.
However, trust in government declined compared to previous surveys, showing mixed signals. When asked whether they trust President Yoon's government administration, 37% of respondents said they trust it, while 59% said they do not. Compared to the previous survey, the percentage of those who trust decreased by 2 percentage points, while those who do not trust remained unchanged.
