Employees of Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dong-seop) carried out volunteer activities on the 7th at the Taehwagang Riverside Citizen Sports Park and the surrounding walking trails to help recover from the damage caused by Typhoon Hin Nam No.
President Kim Dong-seop and about 100 employees of the Oil Corporation divided into groups for morning and afternoon sessions. They gathered around the Taehwagang in Ulsan to remove soil and debris washed up onto the riverbank by Hin Nam No the previous day, and cleared mud from the walking trails and outdoor sports facilities as part of the recovery efforts.
Designated as a national garden in 2019, Ulsan Taehwagang features a 20 km walking trail along its surroundings, sports facilities for daily exercise, and bamboo groves, making it a popular spot for citizens.
It is widely used as a place for citizens to walk, exercise, and as a tourist attraction. Due to Typhoon Hin Nam No, the walking trails around Taehwagang were submerged by rising waters, and a massive amount of soil and debris was swept in.
The volunteer group composed of corporation employees, noticing the accumulation of household waste and debris in the Ulsan tourist area caused by the aftermath of Hin Nam No, promptly began cleanup activities focused on the area together with employees from Ulsan Jung-gu Office.
A corporation official stated, “We plan to carry out recovery support activities sequentially not only at Taehwagang but also along the coastal areas.”
