Clear Skies Nationwide on Chuseok Return Journey... Full Moon Rises Through Clouds on the 10th
Clear skies due to high pressure from the 7th to 9th
High clouds moving in on the afternoon of the 9th
Cloudy during the return travel period on the 11th and 12th
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Chuseok holiday is expected to be mostly clear nationwide, with the full moon visible through the clouds on Chuseok day.
On the 7th, the Korea Meteorological Administration stated in a regular briefing that after the typhoon passed, cold and dry air from the northwest will flow in, resulting in clear skies across the country from the 7th to the 9th, when the homecoming rush continues.
Forecaster Park Jung-hwan said, "After the typhoon moved northeast near the Primorsky region on the 6th, cold and dry air from the north will flow into the Korean Peninsula from the 7th to the 9th, maintaining clear weather," adding, "There will be no weather-related inconveniences on the homecoming roads."
On the 10th, Chuseok day, the full moon will be visible through the clouds in most parts of the country. This is due to the Korean Peninsula entering the edge of a high-pressure system from the afternoon of the 9th, bringing in high clouds. However, Jeju Island and the eastern coast of the Gyeongsang region will experience some low clouds, making the weather somewhat cloudy.
On the 11th and 12th, when many will be returning home, the skies are expected to be mostly cloudy and overcast, with rain forecasted for Jeju Island on the 13th. Depending on the strength and position of the pressure trough, rain may extend not only to Jeju but also to the southern regions.
If the east wind strengthens, waves may become high, so it is essential to check weather information before departure when using ships.
There is also a possibility that tropical depressions and tropical disturbances in the western Pacific region may develop into typhoons, but the situation remains highly variable at this time.

Forecaster Park said, "The tropical depressions and tropical disturbances in the western Pacific are moving and their development and status are currently very unstable," adding, "During the Chuseok holiday, we will monitor and analyze the development of tropical disturbances and provide briefings if there is a possibility of hazardous weather appearing on the Korean Peninsula."
