[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 7th that information on public parking lots nationwide, which will be open free of charge during the Chuseok holiday period, will be provided through Gongyunuri, the Public Data Portal, and private portals starting from the 8th.
The public parking lots nationwide that will be open free of charge during this Chuseok holiday period include 14,184 locations such as community centers and schools operated by administrative agencies, public institutions, and education offices. Information on free public parking lots during Chuseok will be available not only on 'Gongyunuri' but also on private portals such as 'Naver' and 'Daum' for the convenience of the public. Additionally, the data will be opened to the private sector in file format through the 'Public Data Portal' to allow diverse use by the public.
Citizens who wish to use the free public parking lots can access the Gongyunuri website or run the app on their computer (PC) or mobile device to use the 'Chuseok Holiday Free Parking Lot Guide' service. When users select their desired area, free parking lots will be displayed on the map, and they can receive information on free parking lot opening hours, location details, as well as navigation services to the parking lot.
