40-Year-Old Arrested for Wielding a Weapon Against Cousin During Family Dispute
No Threat to Victim's Life
Police "Plan to Request Arrest Warrant"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 40s was arrested by the police after swinging a weapon at his cousin in a fit of anger during a family dispute.
On the 7th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that they have arrested and are investigating a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of attempted murder.
Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon in rage after a disagreement arose while talking about family issues with his cousin, Mr. B, at his home in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, around 2:30 p.m. on the 6th.
Immediately after the incident, Mr. A called 112 himself and was arrested on the spot by the responding police officers.
The victim, Mr. B, was transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition without life-threatening injuries.

A police official stated, "We are investigating the detailed motive behind the crime," and added, "We plan to request an arrest warrant."
