Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok: "We Will Do Our Best for Typhoon Damage Assessment and Swift Recovery"
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, inspected the local damage situation caused by Typhoon No. 11 ‘Hinnamnor’ at the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the morning of the 6th.
According to Jeonnam Province, as of now, there have been no casualties due to this typhoon, but some public facilities such as fishing port facilities in Heuksan-myeon, Sinan, Dolsan-eup, Yeosu, and Bogil-myeon, Wando were damaged, and power outages occurred in 11,919 households across 13 cities and counties including Mokpo.
Governor Kim encouraged, “We were able to minimize the damage through proactive response by public officials, police, military units, the Office of Education, Korea Electric Power Corporation, KT, and other related organizations who gave up their holidays.”
He added, “Now is the time to do our best in damage investigation and rapid recovery,” requesting cooperation from the military and police for emergency restoration.
He also said, “Damage investigations must be conducted thoroughly from the perspective of each resident to ensure compensation even for very minor damages,” and emphasized, “Especially for damage to aquatic life, since the damage can worsen after a day or two, it must be monitored and inspected carefully.”
Right after the morning meeting on the 6th, the province and city/county officials are mobilizing all available personnel to conduct extensive damage surveys and rapid recovery efforts.
At the damage sites, more than 17,000 support personnel including public officials, military units, police, firefighters, and volunteers, along with 526 recovery equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, and cleaning vehicles, are being deployed early to minimize inconvenience to residents.

After the morning meeting, Governor Kim immediately visited the damage site of lodging collapse (dobok) in Gogeun-myeon, Jindo, and at 2:30 p.m., he will preside over a second meeting to discuss detailed damage situations and recovery measures. He will then attend a damage situation briefing hosted by the President at 3 p.m.
