CJ CheilJedang Collaborates with Starbucks Korea to Launch Three Types of Syrups for Cafes
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] CJ CheilJedang announced on the 6th that it has launched caf? syrups in collaboration with Starbucks Korea.
The newly released caf? syrups come in three varieties: Vanilla, Hazelnut, and Sweet (Caramel flavor), and are sold at Starbucks stores nationwide. Starbucks Korea is the only Starbucks branch worldwide that uses localized caf? syrups developed together with CJ CheilJedang.
CJ CheilJedang focused on creating unique flavors so that consumers can enjoy coffee at home just like the coffee made at Starbucks stores. Each container includes recipes for coffee beverages that pair well with the respective syrup. Reflecting the health-conscious trend, the sugar content was reduced by about 30% compared to the average content of the best-selling caf? syrups on the market. In addition to being free of preservatives, the syrups use animal-free ingredients and have received vegan certification from the Korea Vegan Certification Institute.
Aligned with the home caf? concept, CJ CheilJedang released the Vanilla and Hazelnut syrups in 280ml bottles for direct consumer use, with pumps available for separate purchase. Notably, the 'Eco Tab' method was applied to make the labels easy to remove, and the containers are embossed with the Starbucks logo so they can be reused as flower vases or interior accessories after the syrup is finished. There is also a set product designed for gift demand. The set includes all three syrups?Vanilla, Hazelnut, and Sweet (Caramel flavor)?in smaller 180ml bottles, packaged in 100% paper material.
