[Tomorrow's Weather] Rain in Jeju and Southern Regions... Expanding Nationwide on Sunday
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] On Saturday the 3rd, rain is expected mainly in Jeju and the southern regions, and it is forecast to expand nationwide on Sunday.
On the 2nd, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) forecasted heavy rain on the 3rd in Jeju Island, the southern coast of Jeollanam-do, and the coastal areas of Gyeongsangnam-do.
From dawn to daytime, rain will fall in Jeolla and Gyeongsang regions; from morning to daytime, in the southern Chungcheong region; and from daytime to nighttime, occasional rain is expected in the central and southern parts of Gangwon Yeongdong and the eastern coastal areas of Gyeongsang.
Expected precipitation amounts are 10?60 mm in Jeollanam-do (excluding the southern coast) and 5?30 mm in southern Chungcheong and Jeonbuk.
Over the two days until this day, Jeju Island will receive 100?200 mm (with some areas exceeding 300 mm), and the coastal areas of Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangnam-do will see heavy rain of 50?100 mm.
The morning low temperatures are forecast to be between 15 and 23 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday the 4th, rain is expected in most parts of the country.
The KMA presented the expected precipitation amounts until the 4th as follows: Jeju 100?250 mm (with some areas exceeding 350 mm), southern coast of Jeollanam-do, coastal areas of Gyeongsangnam-do, and the West Sea Five Islands (on the 4th) 50?150 mm, southern Gyeongsangbuk-do, inland Gyeongsangnam-do, the Seoul metropolitan area, and Jeollanam-do (from the 3rd) 20?80 mm, and Gangwon Yeongdong, northern Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungcheong, Jeonbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo (from the 3rd) 10?60 mm.
The KMA urged, "Please prepare as heavy rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning may pour at rates of around 50 mm per hour in Jeju and around 30 mm per hour on the southern coast."
