'College Coach Threatens Athlete with Weapon, to be Transferred Soon'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A university coach who habitually assaulted athletes in the sports team is being referred to the prosecution.
The Violent Crime Investigation Unit of Gwangju Police Agency announced on the 2nd that it plans to send Coach A (50) of a university in Jeonnam to the prosecution without detention on the charge of special assault on the 5th.
A is accused of injuring three athletes belonging to the sports team with a sharp weapon nine times between March and May.
It was revealed that A, after drinking alcohol and finding the athletes at the dormitory, threatened them by stabbing with a blunt weapon, citing anger as the reason.
He also repeatedly assaulted them by hitting with objects or slapping their heads with his palm.
The victims reportedly claimed, "A got angry, asking why we were not training hard."
