By 9 PM, Over 85,000 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed... Declining Trend Continues
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] As of 9 PM on the 1st, the number of new COVID-19 cases was reported to be around 85,000, according to Yonhap News Agency's compilation of local government data.
According to Seoul City and other local governments, the number of new confirmed cases from midnight to 9 PM on the day was counted at 85,696. This is 5,719 more than the count at the same time the previous day.
Although the number increased compared to the previous day, the downward trend continues compared to last week. The interim count on the 25th of last month was 96,968. This is more than 10,000 fewer cases than then. Compared to two weeks ago, the number has decreased by nearly 50,000.
With time remaining until midnight, when the count is finalized, the total number of new cases for the day is expected to be in the high 80,000s or close to 90,000. In the interim count for the day, about 52% of new cases were in the metropolitan area.
