Enjoy Safe and Unique Sports This Fall in Jeonnam
Do, Gokseong Paragliding, Yeongam International Kart Racing Track, and Naju Light Aircraft Airfield Selected as Recommended Tourist Destinations
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province recommended unique leisure experiences that enhance the completeness of travel at the threshold of autumn when cool breezes blow.
On the 1st, the province announced that it had selected Gokseong Train Village Paragliding, Yeongam International Kart Racing Track, and Naju Juksanbo Airfield as recommended tourist destinations for September.
Riding the Gokseong Train Village paragliding offers a thrilling experience of overlooking the Seomjin River and Jirisan Mountain from 550 meters above ground.
It is already well-known among tourists, having been selected as an excellent leisure sports experience facility by the Korea Tourism Organization. It operates with safety as the top priority, having received youth safety activity certification from the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency.
The experience fee includes video shooting costs, allowing visitors to keep lifelong memories in a video.
In particular, it is Gokseong Star Store No. 1, recognized by locals for allowing people to fly in the sky with their beloved pets. Paragliding tourists can enjoy a 30% discount on admission to Gokseong Train Village, rail bikes, steam locomotives, rock climbing, and more.
Yeongam International Kart Racing Track is a miniature version of the Yeongam International Automobile Race Track, which uniquely hosted the World Championship Grand Prix in Korea for four years from 2010 to 2013. It is a dedicated racing kart track capable of hosting international-scale competitions.
There are two types of kart experiences. Leisure karts run slowly at 20 km/h, allowing riders to enjoy the fun of karting.
Sports karts offer fast driving at 60 km/h to enjoy speed. Only those with a driver's license can experience the sports kart. Education on kart riding techniques and safety equipment are provided to safely enjoy the speed.
Naju Juksanbo Airfield offers a sky view of five of the Yeongsan Eight Scenic Spots: Seokgwanjeong Pavilion, Hwangpo Sailboat Dock, Neureoji Observatory, Yeongsan River Estuary, and Bannam Ancient Tombs.
Additionally, it operates a flight training program for obtaining a light aircraft pilot license.
The flight experience courses are divided by flight time. Course 1 is a 10-minute flight over the airfield, Course 2 is a 20-minute tour to Hwangpo Sailboat Dock, Course 3 is a 30-minute tour to Neureoji Observatory, Course 4 is a 40-minute tour around Bannam Ancient Tombs, and Course 5 is a round trip to the estuary at the end of the Yeongsan River.
