[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Silla University recently obtained the ‘2022 University Institutional Accreditation (3rd cycle)’ from the Korea University Accreditation Institute.
Silla University achieved ‘Satisfactory’ in all evaluation indicators of the 3rd cycle, recognizing its social responsibility and international applicability regarding the overall university education environment and operations.
The university also obtained ‘Satisfactory’ in all evaluation indicators of the 1st and 2nd cycles of university institutional accreditation.
The university institutional accreditation has been implemented since 2011 to provide credibility on the quality of university education and to secure objective information related to government financial support.
In the 3rd cycle evaluation, the Korea University Accreditation Institute conducted quantitative and qualitative assessments on 30 evaluation items across five areas: university philosophy and management, curriculum and teaching-learning, faculty and staff, student support and facilities, and university performance and social responsibility, announcing the results on the 30th.
As a result, Silla University will maintain its university institutional accreditation qualification for five years from September 2022 to August 2027.
Lee Dong-yoon, Director of Planning and Coordination at Silla University, said, “It seems that the achievements of promoting industry-academia cooperation, global networks, and educational innovation to nurture experts with essential competencies according to the university’s mid- to long-term development plan have been recognized,” adding, “We will strive further to realize the four core university values of being a ‘university where you want to stay,’ ‘a university you want to go to,’ ‘a trustworthy university,’ and ‘a reliable university.’”
