[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Police have apprehended a man in his 30s who targeted offices exclusively in the Gangnam-gu area of Seoul for a series of thefts.
According to a report compiled by Asia Economy on the 31st, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul arrested a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of theft near Hongdae in Mapo-gu at around 9:40 PM the previous day.
Mr. A is accused of breaking into safes at about 20 public corporations and capital companies located in Gangnam-gu recently, stealing valuables worth tens of millions of won. It is reported that Mr. A was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for theft and was released in June of this year, only to commit another crime two months later.
Following a series of theft reports, police officers from the jurisdictions of Gangnam and Suseo collaborated in tracking him down, leading to his arrest.

A police official stated, "We plan to verify the exact circumstances of the incident," adding, "It is difficult to disclose specific details."
