The Corruption Investigation Office appoints 5 new level 6 investigators... 32 applicants, 1 successful candidate declines appointment
Orientation and Job Training for New Investigators Scheduled for the 6th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin, Legal Affairs Specialist] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (HCIA) has newly appointed five investigators.
HCIA announced on the 31st that it has newly appointed five Grade 6 investigators who will perform duties related to the investigation and inquiry of crimes committed by high-ranking officials, effective from the 1st of next month.
This appointment of investigators is the third, following 18 appointments in the first half and 15 in the second half of last year.
To fill 10 vacancies out of the total investigator quota of 40, HCIA conducted this new appointment process through an open competitive recruitment starting from May 20. However, out of 32 applicants, only six passed the first document screening and the second interview, and among them, one declined the appointment due to personal reasons, resulting in a final appointment of five new investigators.
HCIA stated, "Due to the recruitment purpose of selecting excellent talents with investigative capabilities and legal expertise to achieve results as HCIA investigators, it was inevitable that fewer personnel than originally planned were appointed."
With this new appointment, the total number of HCIA investigators has reached 34. During the appointment process, one investigator who had been dispatched to the prosecution returned, according to HCIA.
Meanwhile, to help the new investigators adapt to the organization, on the 6th of next month, HCIA plans to conduct its first orientation and job training for new investigators at the Gwacheon branch of the National Human Resources Development Institute.
