Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will reflect 100% of the school record curriculum in the principal recommendation admission from the 2023 academic year early admission and apply the minimum CSAT score requirement at the Global Campus. The comprehensive student record admission will introduce a two-stage interview in the interview type and SW talent type.
HUFS will select 2,031 students in the early admission. They will admit 371 students through the principal recommendation admission, 447 students through the comprehensive student record admission (interview type), 34 students through the comprehensive student record admission (SW talent type), 521 students through the comprehensive student record admission (document type), 185 students through the equal opportunity admission, and 473 students through the essay admission.
From this year, the principal recommendation admission will no longer reflect extracurricular activities (attendance, volunteering). Each school can recommend up to 20 students, and those who graduated (or are expected to graduate) after 2018 are eligible to apply. The minimum CSAT score requirement applies to both the Seoul and Global Campuses. For the Seoul Campus, the sum of the grades in two subjects among Korean, Math, English, and Social/Science (one subject) must be within 4, and the Korean history grade must be within 4. For the Global Campus (Humanities), one subject grade among Korean, Math, English, and Social/Science (one subject) must be within 3, and the Korean history grade must be within 4. For the Global Campus (Natural Sciences), one subject grade among Korean, Math, English, and Science (one subject) must be within 3, and the Korean history test-taking requirement must be met.
The comprehensive student record admission will conduct a two-stage interview in the interview type and SW talent type. In the first stage, 100% document evaluation will select three times the number of candidates, and the final score will be the sum of 60% document evaluation and 40% interview evaluation. The reflection ratio of the second-stage interview has been strengthened from 30% to 40%. The document type and equal opportunity admission will be evaluated 100% by document evaluation without an interview. The evaluation factor reflection ratios differ by admission type. The interview type and SW talent type reflect 20% inquiry ability, 40% suitability for the field, 20% personality, and 20% potential for development. The document type and equal opportunity admission reflect 40% inquiry ability and 20% each for suitability for the field, personality, and potential for development.
The essay admission combines 70% essay test and 30% school record curriculum, and from this year, extracurricular activities are not reflected. The minimum CSAT score requirement applies only to the Seoul Campus. For the LD/LT departments, the sum of grades in two subjects among Korean, Math, English, and Social/Science (one subject) must be within 3, and the Korean history grade must be within 4. For other departments, the sum of grades in two subjects among Korean, Math, English, and Social/Science (one subject) must be within 4, and the Korean history grade must be within 4.
