[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Ford Sales Service Korea (Ford Korea) announced on the 26th that it will launch the ’2022 Driving Skills for Life (DSFL)’, a safe driving education program for beginner drivers. DSFL, one of the various social contribution activities conducted by Ford Korea, has been continuously held in Korea since 2016 in partnership with the Korea Life Safety Association. Unlike the past two years’ events, which were operated online due to the COVID-19 situation, this year’s program has been expanded to a hybrid format combining both online and offline operations.

This DSFL program consists of a safe driving series video for beginners produced in four episodes, a live quiz show covering various safe driving knowledge, and practical safe driving training. A total of 300 participants selected through a preliminary online quiz will take part in an online live quiz show on October 28 under the theme ‘Various Safe Driving Knowledge That Beginner Drivers Must Know.’ Additionally, participants who achieve excellent results in the quiz show will be given priority registration opportunities for the safe driving training held on October 22 and 23 at Inje Speedium.

The offline safe driving training combines theoretical education and practical training so that participants can immediately apply the knowledge gained from theory classes through on-site driving practice. The theoretical education covers basic safe driving knowledge, daily vehicle inspection, driving simulators, and drowsy driving prevention. The practical training includes comprehensive safe driving education essential for beginner drivers, such as emergency braking in various situations, hazard avoidance, passing through narrow lanes, and slalom, all designed to prevent or reduce accidents that may occur in real life.

David Jeffrey, CEO of Ford Korea, said, “We are pleased to expand DSFL, which has contributed to spreading a safe driving culture, to a hybrid online and offline format this year,” and added, “Ford Korea will continue to contribute to community development and coexistence through DSFL and various other social contribution activities.”
