[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] Lee Kyung-hoon (31, photo) has jumped to 39th in the world rankings.
In the world rankings announced on the afternoon of the 21st (local time), he rose 6 spots from 45th last week. He accumulated points by finishing tied for 5th at the BMW Championship (total prize money $15 million), the second event of the 2021/2022 PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs (PO), held at Wilmington CC (par 71, 7,534 yards) in Wilmington, Delaware, USA, which ended that morning. This marks his first advancement to the Tour Championship, the PO final event featuring only the top 30 players, since participating in the PO first event Northern Trust in August 2019.
Scottie Scheffler (USA) and Cameron Smith (Australia) maintained their positions as world No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. BMW Championship winner Patrick Cantlay (USA) rose from 4th to 3rd, while Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) dropped one spot to 4th. Xander Schauffele (USA) is 5th, Jon Rahm (Spain) 6th, Justin Thomas 7th, Collin Morikawa 8th, Will Zalatoris (both USA) 9th, and Matthew Fitzpatrick (England) holds 10th place.

Im Sung-jae (24), who has qualified for the Tour Championship for four consecutive years, reclaimed the title of 'Top Korean Ranker' within a week. Im Sung-jae moved up to 19th, pushing Kim Joo-hyung (20) down to 20th. Kim Si-woo (27) dropped 12 spots to 75th.
