In an interview with KBS Radio on the same day, the former emergency committee member said, "According to Emergency Committee Chairman Joo Ho-young, the party leadership election will start at the end of the regular National Assembly session, in December," and judged that it would be "physically difficult" for former leader Lee, whose party membership is suspended until early January, to run.
As Chairman Joo mentioned, even if the leadership election is held as early as the end of January next year, it is interpreted to mean that preparations such as candidate registration will be completed by December. In the case of the Democratic Party of Korea, candidate registration for party leader closed on July 17, and after about a month of primaries, the final candidate will be selected at the end of this month.

He also viewed that the provisional injunction request filed by former leader Lee is likely to be dismissed. The former committee member explained, "Regarding the substantive issue of whether this situation constitutes an emergency, the party's general assembly as well as the standing national committee have already made a judgment," adding, "This is a political matter, not a judicial one." Regarding procedural legality, he further explained, "Since there is no major procedural violation that infringes on the autonomy of the political party, the likelihood of dismissal is much higher. That is what I think."
