Lotte Department Store Dongtan Branch Celebrates 1st Anniversary with Special Exhibition... "Maximizing Art Content"
Various Works Under the 'Art and Design' Theme
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Department Store Dongtan Branch announced on the 22nd that it will operate various exhibitions under the theme of ‘Art and Design’ to celebrate its 1st anniversary.
Artist Moon Seung-ji's solo exhibition ‘Sculpture Collection’ will run until the 28th of this month, and the archive exhibition ‘From Bauhaus to Apple’ by world-renowned German designer Dieter Rams will be held until October 6th. Moon’s Sculpture Collection includes 16 flat works and over 30 furniture pieces, featuring works that form the prototype of the Four Brothers series, which began with a collaboration with Swedish fashion brand COS in 2012. The Dieter Rams special exhibition showcases an extensive range of design works from the 1950s to the 1980s, including vintage design products such as early MacBooks, all in one place.
The Art and Design exhibition offers works on various themes. Until the 30th of this month, a solo exhibition by picture book artist Lee So-young, who has won awards at prestigious international book fairs such as the Bologna Book Fair and is active in both Korea and France, will be presented. Other exhibitions include the David Hockney Book Exhibition, which allows visitors to explore large-scale drawings; an installation work by artist Kwon Oh-sang, famous for photo sculptures, inspired by various clocks and expressed in a modern image; and a special exhibition of works by Indonesian emerging artist Iabadiu Pico.
