Imsil-gun Launches Tourist Attraction Efforts by Promoting Cheese Festival and Other Key Destinations

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is actively attracting tourists by promoting major tourist attractions such as the ImsilN Cheese Festival and the opening of the suspension bridge at Okjeongho Bungeo Island at the Korea International Tourism Expo.

The county announced on the 16th that it participated in the '7th Korea International Tourism Expo' held at KINTEX in Ilsan for four days from the 11th to the 14th, actively promoting Imsil-gun tourism to domestic and international visitors.

Now in its seventh year, the Korea International Tourism Expo is a large-scale exhibition hosted by the Korea Local Newspaper Association and organized by the Korea Exhibition Industry Agency, with 101 local governments and institutions and 80 companies participating.

At this expo, the county actively promoted the opening of Okjeongho Bungeo Island and the holding of the ImsilN Cheese Festival through the operation of the Imsil tourism promotion hall.

The ImsilN Cheese Festival is scheduled to be held face-to-face for the first time in three years from October 7 to 10 at the Imsil Cheese Theme Park area.

This festival will be more abundant and substantial, featuring various programs centered on cheese, a landscape of over ten million chrysanthemum flowers covering the festival site, local foods from heifer Hanwoo under 50 months old, and traditional dishes from 12 eup/myeon lifestyle improvement associations.

Additionally, the festival area will be expanded from the existing Imsil Cheese Theme Park and Cheese Village to the downtown area of Imsil, turning the entire Imsil region into a festival venue.

Okjeongho Bungeo Island, a representative tourist spot of the county, is also expected to attract numerous tourists nationwide as the suspension bridge allowing access to the island is set to open soon.

Previously only viewed from afar, Okjeongho Bungeo Island has been developed into a four-season tourist park, and with the opening of the suspension bridge, it is expected to be recognized as a healing island harmonized with flowers and trees.

The county anticipates significant effects in actively promoting and publicizing Imsil-gun’s major tourist attractions through this international tourism expo.

Through various expos, broadcasting media, SNS, and press promotions, the county expects to promote its tourism resources nationwide and open the era of 10 million tourists for Imsil-gun.

County Governor Shim Min said, “As the county’s tourism industry, including Okjeongho, has recently developed, operating a tourism expo promotion hall at this time when nationwide promotion is needed is expected to be more effective,” and added, “We will continue to strive to develop into a tourist destination with richer sights and attractions.”
