[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim I-gang) has established a dedicated mobile phone for direct text messages to the district mayor, allowing residents to directly convey their grievances and suggestions to the mayor. Starting from the 8th, they will operate the resident communication platform called ‘Baro Munja Harangkke’.
According to Seo-gu on the 3rd, ‘Baro Munja Harangkke’ is an online civil complaint and communication window that simplifies the reception process as much as possible so that the district mayor can directly listen to residents’ inconveniences, grievances, and suggestions and promptly handle civil complaints.
The establishment of this direct mobile phone is one of the measures to strengthen resident communication and participation with the launch of the 8th local government administration, reflecting District Mayor Kim I-gang’s strong will to realize ‘The District Mayor by My Side.’
When inquiries are made via the direct text contact, the district mayor plans to check the processing status of the received civil complaints daily.
Any resident can send text messages to the district mayor, and text transmission (civil complaint reception) is possible 24 hours a day on weekdays at night, weekends, and public holidays, even outside regular operating hours.
Responses and progress regarding civil complaints will be provided to residents by the responsible department via phone or in writing from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
Text content and personal information are kept confidential as a principle, allowing any resident who wishes to propose policies or consult on civil complaints to use the service with peace of mind.
District Mayor Kim I-gang said, “We will get closer to residents and listen actively,” adding, “We will not only conduct communication administration reflecting the vivid and diverse voices of residents but also personally take care of even small matters related to the region.”
