Gwangju Seo-gu Council Completes Formation of the 9th Ethics Committee for the First Half Term

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City has completed the formation of the 9th Ethics Special Committee for the first half of the term.

On the 1st, the Seo-gu Council held the 2nd plenary session of the 305th extraordinary meeting in the main assembly hall and announced on the 3rd that Councilor Im Seong-hwa was elected as the Chair of the Ethics Committee, and Councilor Oh Gwang-rok was elected as the Vice Chair.

Chairperson Ko Gyeong-ae said, “Chairperson Im Seong-hwa is a talent produced in our region, having served as the head of the Seo-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center and the secretary-general of the Seo-gu Community Social Security Council, with nearly six years of experience working exclusively in Seo-gu.” She added, “I believe she is the right person to lead the Ethics Special Committee well, based on her diverse personal networks and administrative capabilities.”

She continued, “The 9th Seo-gu Council promises the residents, on behalf of the 13 Seo-gu council members, to actively represent the voices of the residents and promote council activities with a more proactive attitude toward solving local issues.”

Meanwhile, during this extraordinary meeting, the Seo-gu Council listened to the status of major business promotion and reviewed 18 general agenda items. Councilor Yoon Jeong-min, a three-term veteran, was appointed as the Chair of the Budget and Settlement Special Committee, and Councilor Kim Hyeong-mi was appointed as the Vice Chair.
