Young Soccer Talents Gather Nationwide in Gyeongju... 'Hwarangdae-gi' Youth Soccer Tournament Opens
From the 3rd to the 16th, held at 9 locations including Chukgogwon and Alcheon Stadium
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] The '2022 Hwarangdae-gi National Youth Soccer Tournament,' the largest youth soccer talent gateway in the country, kicks off its 19-day competition with an opening ceremony on the 2nd.
Marking its 19th year, the youth soccer tournament features about 12,000 players from 800 teams across schools and clubs nationwide, competing fiercely at nine venues including Soccer Park.
Gyeongju City is maintaining optimal conditions by thoroughly inspecting and managing the natural grass fields in collaboration with the Facilities Management Corporation, Urban Parks Division, and Hwarang Village ahead of the tournament.
The matches are divided into two rounds: the first round runs from the 3rd to the 8th, and the second round from the 11th to the 16th.
Given the tournament is held amid a heatwave, medical staff and game officials have been secured to ensure safety and smooth progress, and disinfection personnel have been deployed at the venues to prevent COVID-19, making thorough preparations for the event.
Additionally, from the 19th to the 21st, the Korea Football Association will host the 'i-League Summer Soccer Festival' over two nights and three days throughout Gyeongju.
Experience events for youth players will include various programs such as ▲ Underwater Soccer ▲ 3:3 Soccer Battle Zone ▲ Bazaar operation.
