Wood's Value "On a Different Level"... Norman Claims "LIV Offered $700M~$800M"
"Woods is the 'Needle Mover'... Deserves the Highest Respect"

The LIV Golf Invitational Series, backed by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, is alleged to have offered Tiger Woods (47, USA) a contract worth over $700 million (approximately 914.5 billion KRW).
According to the US sports media outlet ESPN on the 2nd (Korean time), Greg Norman, CEO of LIV Golf Investments, appeared on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" and revealed, "Woods was offered an amount between $700 million and $800 million but declined to join LIV Golf."
Norman explained that the offer from LIV Golf was made before he became CEO of LIV Golf Investments. He described Woods as a "needle mover," adding, "Of course, he deserves the very best treatment." The term "needle mover" refers to someone who can change the landscape.
The $700 million contract is an astronomical sum, not to be taken lightly even considering the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund's scale of about $620 billion. Compared to Henrik Stenson's $50 million contract, who gave up his position as Ryder Cup European team captain to join LIV Golf, Woods' offer is at least 14 times greater. Although Woods is past his prime and not in normal physical condition due to a car accident, this proves that his status and influence in golf are on a completely different level from other active players.

However, Woods not only rejected LIV Golf's offer but has also publicly supported the PGA Tour. At last month's official press conference for The Open, he criticized players who moved to LIV Golf, saying they "turned their backs on the place that made them who they are today."
