[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun is making every effort to prepare for the swift disbursement of disaster basic income of 100,000 won per resident.
On the 2nd, according to the county, they recently established the disaster basic income (3rd round) support plan and submitted a supplementary budget of 8.2 billion won to the Gochang County Council.
The third disaster basic income payment targets 53,215 people (28,773 households) who have their residence registered in the county as of midnight on June 30.
The application period is from the 22nd of this month to the 30th of next month, with 100,000 won paid per resident and an additional 100,000 won per household.
For example, a household of three will receive a total of 400,000 won, and a household of four will receive 500,000 won.
The county aims to complete payments before the Chuseok holiday and plans to operate a concentrated application and payment period of 1 to 2 weeks, as well as a day-of-week application system (a 5-day rotation based on birth year) to prevent congestion during in-person applications.
Additionally, for elderly residents with mobility difficulties, a visiting payment administrative service by village will be provided concurrently.
Payments will be made via anonymous prepaid cards, which can only be used within Gochang-gun.
Previously, the county paid 100,000 won to all residents in the first round in 2020, the second round in March this year, and this is the third payment.
County Governor Shim Deokseop said, “As we provide emergency living support funds to alleviate the financial burden and increase consumption capacity of residents facing difficulties due to COVID-19, we will mobilize all administrative power to ensure prompt and smooth payments. We hope this will serve as a catalyst for the recovery of the local economy by providing stronger support to those in need.”
