A Man in His 50s Arrested for Leaving Threatening Messages Against President Yoon on the Internet
Police "Legal review and decision on whether to file charges planned"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A man in his 50s who left a post threatening President Yoon Seok-yeol was apprehended by the police.
On the 1st, Songpa Police Station announced that they had arrested and were investigating Mr. A (57), who wrote a threatening post against President Yoon at 10:16 PM the previous day. Mr. A is suspected of leaving a threatening comment against President Yoon on the People Power Party's website bulletin board at 8:34 PM the previous day.
The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency tracked the ID used to write the comment and obtained Mr. A's personal information. Police officers from the Samjeon Precinct of Songpa Police Station then went to his residence and arrested him.
