View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] LG Uplus will launch a dedicated ‘S1 Anshim’ plan for small business owners on the 1st of next month, combining its store-specialized intelligent CCTV with the emergency dispatch service of domestic security company S1.
S1 Anshim is a subscription plan that provides intelligent CCTV along with 24-hour S1 emergency dispatch service twice a month for 11,000 KRW per month (5-year contract, VAT included). By adding 2,200 KRW to the monthly fee, customers can also use PTZ cameras with 360-degree adjustable viewing angles to eliminate blind spots, and varifocal cameras with 5x zoom to closely monitor specific locations.
Previously, three separate plans were offered: the ‘Standard’ plan providing only intelligent CCTV, the ‘Partnership’ plan offering intelligent CCTV plus two free monthly emergency dispatches from S1, and the ‘Store Anshim’ plan providing special cameras such as PTZ and varifocal. LG Uplus explained that they identified customer demand for using emergency dispatch services and special cameras at a reasonable price, and thus launched a new product that integrates the benefits of these three plans into one.
S1 Anshim features an extension of the maximum contract period from the previous 3 years to 5 years, with significantly increased discounts based on contract duration. Customers can use the service at a price discounted by about 80% compared to no contract (55,000 KRW) and about 17% compared to a 3-year contract (13,200 KRW) when signing a 5-year contract. For contracts of 3 years or longer, installation fees of 68,200 KRW for indoor models and 89,100 KRW for outdoor models are waived.
It is also highly competitive in price compared to existing plans. Previously, to use emergency dispatch services along with intelligent CCTV, customers had to subscribe to the ‘Partnership’ plan costing 24,200 KRW per month, but now they can enjoy the same benefits at more than 50% discounted price.
In June, LG Uplus developed physical unclonable function (PUF) technology applicable to virtual private networks (VPN) between CCTV and servers in collaboration with ICTK Holdings, the world’s first IoT security specialist. They plan to apply this technology in October to significantly enhance security by preventing anyone other than the customer from accessing camera footage.
S1 emergency dispatch service sends S1 personnel to the scene to safely handle situations in case of emergencies. LG Uplus’s intelligent CCTV is equipped with ‘AI video analysis’ that distinguishes people, animals, shadows, and camera shakes, sending alert messages to customers via a smartphone app when abnormal situations are detected. Customers can check real-time store status through the app and request ‘emergency dispatch,’ upon which S1 personnel will be dispatched.
